We’re looking for an experienced EPOS Solutions Specialist to join our Payments Care & Enablement team at Clear Business.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who already has strong experience working with EPOS solutions, payment technology and merchant services and knows what it takes to deliver a smooth implementation from configuration through to go-live.

You’ll take technical ownership of the customer journey, ensuring solutions are configured correctly, resolving complex issues and working closely with customers, internal teams and third-party technical partners. When something isn’t working as it should, you’ll be the specialist who gets to the root of the problem and drives it through to resolution.

What we want you to do

As our EPOS Solutions Specialist, you’ll:

  • Own the technical onboarding and implementation of EPOS and merchant services customers from validated order through to successful go-live.
  • Configure EPOS environments to individual customer requirements, including products, menus, payment configuration, user access and peripheral devices.
  • Assess customer requirements and identify anything missing, conflicting or technically unsuitable before deployment.
  • Configure and support payment terminals and merchant service solutions, ensuring EPOS and payments work together effectively.
  • Lead technical go-live readiness, completing system checks and resolving configuration issues before handover.
  • Diagnose complex technical issues including transaction failures, terminal faults, connectivity problems, device issues and configuration errors.
  • Own technical cases from investigation through to resolution, coordinating with third-party EPOS, payments, connectivity and hardware partners where required.
  • Act as an internal escalation point for more complex EPOS and merchant services issues.
  • Carry out root cause analysis on recurring incidents and failed implementations, identifying solutions that prevent issues happening again.
  • Maintain accurate technical notes, configuration records and customer updates.
  • Share your specialist knowledge with colleagues and provide guidance on complex EPOS and payments issues.

What you need to have already done to be right for this role

We’re looking for someone who can bring strong, hands-on EPOS and payments expertise to the role.

You’ll need:

  • Strong experience in EPOS implementation, technical EPOS support, merchant services or payments technology.
  • Hands-on experience configuring, implementing and supporting EPOS solutions within live customer environments.
  • Experience diagnosing technical issues across software, hardware, devices and connectivity.
  • Experience owning customer implementations and go-live activity through to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of payment terminals, merchant services or payment processing.
  • Experience managing complex technical escalations with third-party suppliers or technology partners.
  • Experience using root cause analysis to understand recurring faults and implement corrective action.
  • The ability to understand dependencies between EPOS configuration, hardware, payment processing and customer connectivity.
  • Working knowledge of networking and connectivity relevant to EPOS and payment devices.
  • Confidence communicating technical information clearly to customers and non-technical colleagues.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage several implementations and technical incidents at once.
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office and case-management systems.

What success looks like

You’ll be the person we can rely on to provide specialist technical ownership of our EPOS and merchant services solutions.

You’ll deliver accurate, first-time-right implementations, successful customer go-lives and effective resolutions when more complex technical problems arise.

Just as importantly, you’ll use what you learn from incidents and implementations to help us improve our processes, reduce repeat issues and deliver a better experience for our customers.
