We are looking for an Assistant Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Team within our Finance Division.

The ideal candidate will have experience playing a key role in helping businesses make confident, well-informed financial decisions.  By providing accurate reporting, clear analysis and reliable financial insight, this role will help to support effective cost control, stronger forecasting, and better planning across the Group overhead base.  As a requirement for this role, you will need to be willing to study AAT or foundation/management level of CIMA and the Company will support you with this. This role would suit an individual with strong attention to detail and excellent customer service and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of monthly variance analysis against budget and forecast for the Group overhead base, helping the business understand the story behind the numbers and take timely action where needed.
  • Coordinate and collate Group cost centre packs for budget and forecast cycles in line with internal and external deadlines. This includes supporting key functional areas such as Finance, IT, Legal, Innovation, Facilities, HR, Sales & Commercial, CEO & Other and Central Operations, helping ensure the Group has a clear and reliable view of its overhead cost base.
  • Ensure financial results are accurate, consistent, and aligned to expectations. Raise queries promptly with cost centre owners and the Finance Operations team so that month-end analysis is completed on time and supports clear internal management reporting.
  • Act as a trusted FP&A contact for cost centre owners, providing clear guidance and support on overhead reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Support the FP&A Overhead Manager and FP&A Overhead Analyst in preparing monthly financial reporting for the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors. The role contributes to high-quality reporting that gives senior leaders clear visibility of performance, supports informed decision-making and strengthens financial control.
  • Maintain, refresh, and validate the Overheads Database reporting, ensuring the overhead cost base is consolidated accurately, and SAP BPC system numbers are reflected correctly in the Group Reporting database. Confirm data points against forecast and budget to provide a dependable reporting foundation.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements, particularly within BPC, by testing changes before go-live, confirming data accuracy and helping ensure reporting tools remain robust, efficient, and fit for purpose.
  • Improve reporting files and monthly review packs using tools such as Power BI and AI, helping make financial information easier to understand, more insightful and more useful for stakeholders.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support the FP&A Overhead Manager and FP&A Overhead Analyst, including headcount tracking, professional fee reviews, historical data analysis, and financial model builds. Use these analyses to help explain trends, identify opportunities, and support practical business decisions.
