Our Engineering team at Rubix plays a vital role in solving complex challenges and delivering practical solutions that keep our customers moving. Working across a range of industrial sectors, we provide specialist engineering services including the repair, overhaul, installation and maintenance of pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors and hydraulic equipment.

About the Role:

As Project Manager, you will take ownership of site and service projects from initial enquiry and quotation through to planning, delivery and close-out.

You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards, while developing strong customer relationships and supporting profitable business growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage projects from quotation and order acceptance through to completion and invoicing.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare quotations, tenders, project plans, budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor project performance against cost, scope, schedule and contractual requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for additional works, variations and future projects.
  • Plan and coordinate labour, equipment and subcontractors to maximise efficiency.
  • Prepare, review and approve RAMS, ensuring compliance with H&S and relevant standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through site inspections, audits and toolbox talks.
  • Maintain accurate cost capture, financial reporting and project invoicing.
  • Work closely with Engineering Supervisors, Site Engineers, SHEQ, Supply Chain and Finance teams.

Key Skills, Experience & Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing projects within an engineering, industrial or service environment.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical engineering background.
  • Experience managing teams, subcontractors and multiple projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience in quotations, cost control and project margins.
  • Good understanding of H&S, risk management and RAMS.
  • Excellent customer-facing, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' supervisory/team leadership experience.
  • HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering desirable.
  • Project Management qualification desirable.
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid desirable.
  • Additional specialist qualifications such as EUSR, lifting, confined space or electrical testing advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
