We are looking for an organised and proactive Control Coordinator to support the day-to-day coordination and administration of our electricity control processes.

This is an important role focused on the control and continuity of supply across electricity distribution networks. You will help ensure that information is accurate, records are maintained and activities are progressed efficiently, while supporting compliance with industry guidance and Distribution Safety Rules.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinating control-related processes and ensuring actions, documentation and updates are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Maintaining accurate records, trackers and registers to provide clear visibility of current activities and outstanding actions.
  • Acting as the primary control desk contact for live low-voltage energisations.
  • Recording safety-critical information provided by field engineers and approving works in line with the required processes.
  • Liaising with internal teams, field engineers, operations managers and other stakeholders.
  • Building effective working relationships with DNO and IDNO partners, directly employed colleagues and subcontractors.
  • Supporting safe, compliant construction and service delivery.
  • Checking and submitting requests for planned works and planned supply interruptions in line with asset adopters’ processes.
  • Supporting document control, version management and filing.
  • Helping teams follow agreed administrative and compliance processes.
  • Identifying practical improvements to templates, trackers and ways of working. 

 

What we’re looking for

You will be highly organised, comfortable managing several priorities and committed to maintaining accurate records. You will also bring:

  • Strong coordination and administrative skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident and professional communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with engineers, operational colleagues, internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive and practical approach to resolving queries and progressing actions.
  • The ability to follow established processes and support others in meeting administrative and compliance requirements.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • The ability to prepare clear notes, updates, summaries and reports.
  • The confidence to work independently while contributing positively as part of a team.
  • An appropriate and professional approach to confidential or sensitive information. 

 

Experience and qualifications

Previous experience in a coordination, administration, document control or team support role would be valuable. Experience supporting an operational, engineering, project or compliance-focused team would also be beneficial.

You should be comfortable maintaining trackers, registers, records and other administrative systems, with a good working knowledge of Excel for tracking and reporting. A relevant administration, business support or project coordination qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential.
