Lecturer in Creative Media - Part Time

Role Summary

We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Creative Media Lecturer to join our Creative and Digital Technologies team. This role involves teaching across a range of further education programmes, supporting learners to achieve their full potential, and contributing to the continued development of the curriculum within Creative Media.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, developing learning materials, assessing student progress and providing guidance and support to learners. You will also contribute to curriculum development, quality assurance activities and the effective running of programmes within the department.

Actual Salary: £20,462.55 - £25,913.25 per annum

Working Pattern: 21.5 hours per week / Wednesday - Thursday 8:30am - 5pm Friday 8:30am - 4pm

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and assess learners across a range of further education courses in Creative Media.
• Develop curriculum content, learning materials and assessment activities.
• Mark assignments and maintain accurate records of learner achievement and progress.
• Support students through guidance, coaching, mentoring and pastoral support.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Assist with course leadership, verification activities and programme administration.
• Coordinate with course teams to ensure effective delivery of learning programmes.
• Support student recruitment, selection and enrolment activities.
• Participate in self-assessment, action planning and departmental improvement initiatives.
• Engage in continuing professional development and contribute to sharing best practice across the department.

Essential Criteria

• Relevant subject expertise within Creative Media.
• Appropriate teaching qualification, substantial industry experience, or willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
• Knowledge and experience of innovative learning and teaching techniques.
• Ability to support curriculum development, including the effective use of ICT in teaching and learning.
• Knowledge and understanding of current education and training initiatives.
• Customer-focused approach with excellent attention to detail and professionalism.

Important Things to Note

In DN Colleges we call this role Creative Media Lecturer but you might know this as Media Lecturer, Digital Media Lecturer, Media Studies Lecturer, Creative Content Lecturer or Creative Arts Lecturer.

We are not looking for agency support for this role.

Additional Information

Teaching Qualifications: Applicants are not required to hold a teaching qualification at the point of appointment. However, they must be willing to work towards and achieve a recognised Level 5 teaching qualification within the first 18 months of employment. This qualification must then be maintained through ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD). At DN Colleges Group, a recognised teaching qualification is defined as Level 5 or above.
