The role

The Placement Officer supports learners across The Learning Foundry's funded learning programmes by securing and coordinating a range of high-quality work placement opportunities with suitable employers.

The role plays a key part in helping learners develop their skills, gain valuable workplace experience, and successfully transition into sustainable employment.

A core responsibility of the role is to build and maintain strong relationships with local employers across the Liverpool City Region, creating placement opportunities that align with learners' skills, interests, and career aspirations. Equally important is developing positive relationships with learners to understand their individual abilities, support needs, and desired employment outcomes.

Supporting learners to achieve positive progression and destination outcomes is at the heart of this role. The Placement Officer will provide high-quality information, advice and guidance (IAG) to both learners and employers, ensuring placements are successful, beneficial, and aligned with programme objectives.

 

The right fit

  • You have demonstrable experience in a similar field / role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate highly complex information that may be difficult to understand.
  • Ability to deal with changing priorities, work under pressure, work to tight deadlines and be flexible.
  • You have knowledge of funding streams and experience working within an employability or skills programme.
  • You’re confident networking and building new connection.
  • An IAG Level 3 qualification would be desirable but not essential.
  • A sales / recruitment background would also be highly regarded.
