Food Service Contracts & Services Manager
Location: Hybrid, St Albans (2 days per week) with national travel Reporting to: Group Infrastructure & Technical Services Director

Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the UK's leading independent forecourt operator, is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Food Service Contracts & Services Manager to establish and lead a new strategic function supporting our growing Food Service estate. This is a unique opportunity to build a service management framework from the ground up, creating industry-leading standards across maintenance, supplier performance, and operational support.
As the successful candidate, you will take ownership of developing and implementing national service contracts, driving supplier performance, creating KPI and SLA frameworks, and ensuring the highest levels of service delivery across a large multi-site operation. Over time, you will also have the opportunity to build and lead a dedicated team of Service Managers.
What You'll Be Doing
Contract Strategy & Procurement
Develop and implement MFG's Food Service maintenance and service contract strategy.
Lead supplier tender processes, evaluations, and negotiations.
Review existing arrangements and identify opportunities for consolidation and cost efficiencies.
Establish national agreements covering maintenance, servicing, compliance inspections, and specialist support services.
Develop governance processes that deliver commercial value while supporting operational performance.
Supplier & Service Management
Build strong strategic partnerships with key national service providers.
Manage supplier performance against contractual obligations and agreed standards.
Lead supplier review meetings and service governance forums.
Resolve escalated issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives. (Year 2 with dedicated Service Team)
Performance & Reporting
Design and implement KPI, SLA, and performance management frameworks.
Develop dashboards and reporting systems for senior stakeholders.
Monitor responsiveness, service quality, compliance, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance service delivery.
Leadership & Growth
Establish and develop a new Service Management function.
Recruit, coach, and mentor Service Managers as the team expands.
Create a culture of accountability, customer service excellence, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
Significant experience in contract management, supplier management, or service delivery management.
Proven success negotiating and managing national service contracts.
Strong commercial awareness and budget management capability.
Experience developing KPIs, SLAs, reporting frameworks, and governance processes.
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Experience working within multi-site environments such as retail, hospitality, food service, facilities management, or similar sectors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent communication skills.
Desirable
Experience within Food Service, QSR, Hospitality, Retail, or Facilities Management.
Experience building and leading teams.
Knowledge of contractor management and procurement processes.
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
Experience using Facilities Management or Service Management systems.
Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
