Senior Technical Business Analyst – 6 Month Fixed Term

Hybrid, London - City

Full time, Fixed Term

Salary: £75,000

 

Your role:

This role will play a crucial part in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring the successful implementation and optimisation of student and membership platforms.

The role holder will have expertise in business process analysis, system configurations, data management, and integrations within educational or membership-based environments. They will work closely with stakeholders to define requirements, enhance platform capabilities, and drive digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and technical experts to define business requirements for MS Dynamics 365 and LMS platforms.
  • Analyse existing student/membership platforms and recommend enhancements or new solutions to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and surveys to capture business processes and system needs.
  • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications, including process flows, use cases, and user stories

Technical Solution & System Integration:

  • Support the configuration, customisation, and deployment of MS Dynamics 365 modules (CRM, Membership, Student Management, etc.).
  • Work with IT teams to ensure seamless integration between MS Dynamics 365, LMS, and other third-party applications.
  • Assist in defining API and data integration strategies for a seamless student/member experience.
  • Collaborate with vendors and developers to oversee data migration, system upgrades, and platform enhancements.


Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and execute test plans, scripts, and acceptance criteria to validate system functionality.
  • Conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Identify, document, and track system defects and enhancements.
  • Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Act as a liaison between business users, IT teams, and external vendors.
  • Support project planning, timelines, and deliverables for platform-related initiatives.
  • Provide training and documentation to business users on new system functionalities.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices for educational technology and membership platforms to drive innovation.

Key Requirements:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • At least five years’ experience as a Technical Business Analyst, preferably within an education, membership, or professional body environment.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365, including CRM, Customer Engagement, Power Platform, Business Central, or Finance and Operations modules.
  • Experience working with market-leading Learning Management Systems such as Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, or TalentLMS.
  • Solid understanding of student, learner, and membership lifecycle management processes.
  • Hands-on experience with system integrations, API management, and data migration or transformation activities.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality business requirements, user stories, functional and technical specifications, and process documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical audiences.


Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working with education technology ecosystems, including Student Information Systems and digital learning tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery approaches, including Scrum and Kanban, and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Professional certifications in Business Analysis, Project Management, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Working knowledge of reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI and SQL.
