We are seeking to recruit an Occupational Therapy Officer who will carry out assessments for people referred to Occupational Therapy within Adult Social Care.

The applicant must have knowledge of specialist equipment, adaptations, rehabilitation services and Occupational Therapy practice.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out assessments, completing referrals to other agencies and services and gathering further information for decision-making purposes and be a link person for the Occupational Therapy team.

Continuing professional development is actively encouraged and regular support and supervision will be provided by a Senior Occupational Therapist within the team.

Participation in service development and clinical governance is also expected, for which there is excellent support through the Integrated Occupational Therapy service to help you develop.

The role will be community based across Middlesbrough and the post will include carrying out assessments with people in their own homes, therefore having access to transport is essential.
