About Us

At Julia's House we provide specialist care to children with life-limiting and complex conditions and support their families, giving them all a chance to have the magical moments and memories every child and family deserves.

Our amazing nurses and carers bring clinical care, fun, laughter and compassion to the children they support. We also give exhausted parents a much-needed respite break from around-the-clock care, with the peace of mind that their child is in safe hands.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing and committed Community Fundraiser to join our Wiltshire fundraising team.

About the Role

This is a highly visible, community-focused role that will see you spending much of your time out and about across Wiltshire, building awareness of Julia's House and strengthening our presence within local communities.

You will take the lead on identifying, researching and attending community events such as fetes, shows, festivals, markets and local gatherings. By representing Julia's House at these events, you'll help raise awareness of our services, engage new supporters and create opportunities for fundraising and long-term community support.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships and acting as an ambassador for a cause they are passionate about. You'll be proactive in seeking opportunities to increase our profile, ensuring Julia's House is visible, recognised and valued throughout the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities

Community Outreach and Supporter Engagement

  • Proactively look for opportunities to raise awareness and acquire new supporters: engage with the local community to develop lasting relationships.
  • Deliver talks, presentations and attend cheque presentations.
  • Work alongside colleagues and volunteers to support fundraising campaigns and activities.
  • Contribute ideas and insights to help grow community fundraising income and supporter participation.

Events and Charity Representation

  • Increase the visibility and profile of Julia's House across Wiltshire through regular community engagement activities: research, identify and secure opportunities to attend community events, including shows, fetes, fairs, festivals and local gatherings.
  • Plan and prepare for events, ensuring resources, materials and promotional activities are organised and delivered effectively.
  • Represent Julia's House professionally and enthusiastically at community events, acting as a positive ambassador for the charity.
  • Follow up with contacts and supporters generated through community events to maximise engagement and support.
  • Develop network of fundraising volunteers.
  • Attend and support charity-led events as required.

Administration and Compliance

  • Maintain accurate supporter and event records using the CRM system.
  • Monitor and report on community event activity, outcomes and opportunities.
  • Ensure all fundraising activities comply with fundraising regulations and best practice.

About You

What We're Looking For

  • A passion for making a real difference in your local community.
  • Experience in fundraising, community engagement, events or a customer-facing role.
  • A confident and enthusiastic communicator who enjoys meeting people and building relationships.
  • Someone who is organised, proactive and able to manage multiple events and opportunities simultaneously.
  • Strong planning skills with the ability to research, prepare for and deliver successful community engagement activities.
  • Confidence representing an organisation publicly and speaking to groups of varying sizes.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to get involved.
  • A team player who can work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team environment.

Why You'll Love It

  • A varied and rewarding role that gets you out into the community and making a real impact.
  • The opportunity to raise awareness and support for an important local charity.
  • Hybrid working for flexibility and work-life balance.
  • You'll be part of a passionate, supportive team.
  • The chance to be part of something meaningful and impactful.

This role includes regular travel across Wiltshire, including evening and weekend work, particularly to support community events and activities. A full driving licence and access to a car for business use are essential.

If you're ready for a role that's rewarding, visible, community-focused and full of purpose – we'd love to hear from you!
