Can you help support our patients to access a range of services, including creative therapy activities, wellbeing support, emotional support and appointments with specialist doctors and therapists?

We are looking for Volunteer Drivers to join our team. Times are varied between 12noon and 3.30pm throughout the week, please see a copy of our timetable below for further details.

Alan's typical journey involves:

  • Collecting the patient from their home.
  • Offering support to help them safely into the car.
  • Driving them to the Hospice and ensuring they are dropped comfortably near the entrance.
  • Spending time while they attend their session, getting a drink in the Hospice Bistro, often reading, walking, or relaxing in the conservatory.
  • Returning to collect them, helping arrange their next appointment, and ensuring they get safely back home.

St Gemma’s Hospice is an independent Leeds-based charity and one of the leading hospices in the UK, providing expert care and support for local people with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. We offer care to patients, families and carers in the Hospice’s In-Patient Unit, through the St Gemma’s community team, and at our Out-Patients.

We have around 300 employees working across the main Hospice site in Moortown, Retail Hub in Bramley, a large chain of charity shops, and out in the community.
