Do you enjoy problem solving and practical work? Would you like to earn while you learn and gain a recognised plumbing qualification?

First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) is recruiting a Level 3 Plumbing Apprentice to join our Property Care Team.

Working alongside experienced plumbers, you'll develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to become a qualified plumber whilst studying through Oldham College.

This apprenticeship offers genuine long-term career opportunities, with many of our apprentices progressing into permanent skilled trade roles.

About the role

You'll work across our housing stock helping prepare empty homes for new customers by carrying out a variety of plumbing repairs and installations.

You'll learn how to:

  • Repair and replace pipework
  • Install and maintain bathrooms and kitchens
  • Fit taps, toilets, basins and sinks
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing faults
  • Install hot and cold water systems
  • Carry out leak detection and repairs
  • Use plumbing tools and equipment safely
  • Read technical drawings and specifications
  • Work alongside joiners, electricians, plasterers and other trades
  • Follow health and safety legislation and safe systems of work
  • Deliver excellent customer service to our customers

Throughout your apprenticeship you'll receive structured on-the-job training and support from experienced mentors. One day a week will be spent attending Oldham College.

  • Has a genuine interest in plumbing
  • Enjoys practical and technical work
  • Has good problem-solving skills
  • Is reliable, hardworking and motivated to learn
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Has a positive attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Is committed to successfully completing their Level 3 apprenticeship

Entry Requirements

You'll need to meet the entry requirements for the Level 3 Plumbing Apprenticeship delivered by Oldham College.

Minimum entry requirements: GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) or above in Maths and English, plus Grade 4 or above in three other subjects.

Have a driving license or a willingness to learn.
