Claimant Personal Injury Paralegal

This is a Permanent, full time vacancy that will close in {x} days at {xx:xx} BST.

Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced personal injury case handler to join our claimant injury department based in Bristol.  The successful applicant will be responsible for their own caseload involving a wide variety of injury claims including vulnerable road users such as cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists and minor to moderate head injury claims.

A combination of office and home working will be required. The successful candidate will be required to work from our Bristol office 2 days a week. On the days that you are not working in the Bristol office, you will be working from home.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently and effectively running own caseload of personal injury claims;
  • Pursuing claims up to a value of £25,000.00 through and outside of the MOJ Portal including pre and post litigation stages making full use of our case management system;
  • Complying fully with agreed service standards;
  • Communicating with clients, insurers, expert witnesses and solicitors;
  • Attending and participating in weekly risk assessment meetings;
  • Managing expectations of clients & effectively deal with any complaints that arise in line with Company policy;
  • Attending and participating in weekly risk assessment meetings;
  • Any other duties as required

 

Skills/Competencies required:

  • Experience of handling a claimant injury caseload;
  • Working knowledge of MOJ Portal processes;
  • Experience of pursuing claims allocated to the Fast Track;
  • Experience of litigation to include Issue of proceedings, complying with Court Directions through to Trial;
  • Knowledge of a Case Management System;
  • Ability to work to strict Service Level Agreements;
  • Technical proficiency in claims handling including litigation;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to analyse and research legal issues;
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Law degree, CILEx or equivalent qualification desirable but not essential.

 

A successful offer of employment is subject to a basic credit check & a basic DBS check.
