Octane Capital – why we exist
Let us tell you a bit about us
Octane Capital is a specialist property finance lender, providing tailored funding solutions to brokers, property investors and borrowers across the UK.
With expertise spanning bridging finance, buy-to-let and development finance, Octane takes a flexible and relationship-led approach to lending. By combining strong market knowledge with commercial decision-making, the business delivers funding solutions that help customers seize opportunities and achieve their property ambitions.
At Octane, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service, fast decision-making and a pragmatic approach to lending, ensuring brokers and customers receive the support they need throughout the entire lending journey.
As we continue to grow, our focus remains on building lasting relationships, maintaining strong credit standards and providing innovative property finance solutions in a dynamic market.
Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity
This is an opportunity to join Octane Capital at a pivotal stage of its growth, following its acquisition by Aldermore Bank. You’ll be part of a fast-paced, specialist lender combining the agility of a smaller business with the backing and stability of a bank.
As the second member of the Finance & Operations team, you’ll be at the heart of the business. This isn’t a typical finance role – you’ll work across finance, lending operations and credit, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of property lending.
You’ll collaborate closely with the credit team, contribute to senior management reporting, and support the business as it expands into new product areas. If you’re someone who enjoys variety, responsibility and the chance to make a tangible impact early in your career, this role offers a unique platform to develop.
What will your day look like?
Review deal approval models in partnership with the credit team and support preparation of purchase orders
Prepare loan redemption statements, calculate loan extensions and support daily processing of loan completion payments
Complete daily bank journals, reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records across transactions
Produce borrower interest and repayment reporting for the credit team
Track KPIs across credit and sales functions and identify opportunities to improve management information and reporting
Deliver weekly reporting on lending activity to senior management
What do we expect from you?
Strong Excel skills, including advanced formula use (with some macro knowledge beneficial)
Strong attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy and integrity
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work across teams
A proactive approach and willingness to take on a broad range of responsibilities
A genuine interest in finance, lending or financial services
What can you expect from us?
A friendly and flexible culture, the same as how we work with our customers
A growing organisation that means there’s lots of opportunities to progress
A drive for continuous improvement, which you will be empowered to get behind from day one
And of course, you will be rewarded competitively, with a good range of core benefits and bonus potential
