Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist on a permanent, full time basis to join our Technical team to be based in the UK.

Job Purpose:

The M&E Specialist will support country and multi-country programmes and projects with M&E including developing log frames and MEAL plans, and planning, implementing, analysing and reporting on different types of evaluations, using both quantitative and qualitative methods.

The post holder will provide technical assistance and guidance to country level projects for monitoring and evaluation activities, including advising on innovative approaches and methodologies in M&E. In additional to supporting country-level programme evaluations, they will support evaluations at regional and global level: including the design, implementation, analysis and dissemination of results. They will also participate in supporting business development by designing and developing relevant frameworks and approaches.

The post holder will hold:

  • A Postgraduate degree in public health with focus on epidemiology/bio-statistics or demography
  • A Significant knowledge in communicable disease control and particularly malaria
  • Experience working in data management and epidemiology within government, a public sector agency, a not-for-profit organisation or research institution
  • Experience in epidemiological research design, implementation and data analysis
  • Experience in the development of databases, digital data entry systems (PDA or phone-based, such as SurveyCTO, Magpi, etc.), statistical analysis software (R, Access, Stata) and visualisation software (PowerBI)
  • Experience in collection (focus group discussions, in-depth interviews) and analysis (using NVivo, Altas ti etc.) of qualitative data
  • Experience of writing up and presenting results, i.e. publishing in peer-reviewed journals and/or presenting findings to academic audiences
  • Extensive experience in survey design and implementation
  • Demonstrable understanding of the role of M&E and research in public health programmes
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
  • Intercultural awareness
  • Organisational and project management skills.
