YOUTH PRESIDENT 2027-2028

13-Month Fixed Term Contract from 1 August 2027 – 31 August 2028
A full time role offering a salary of £27,460 non-London / £31,799 London per annum

We are looking for our Youth President for 2027-2028 to work with the Connexional Team to:

  • Enable, encourage and enthuse children and young people to get involved in every aspect of Church life
  • Represent and host 3Generate, the Children and Youth Assembly of the Methodist Church
  • Listen to the voices of children and young people from across the Methodist Church in Britain and to be advocate for them in the life of the Church at every level – this may involve a lot of independent travel, and evening and weekend travel
  • Influence the decision-making of the Church by sharing the opinions and priorities of children and young people

 

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to travel and work around Britain, with an overseas visit, supporting children and young people from all backgrounds. The work is challenging and varied and you will have experience of public speaking, debating, team and independent working, report writing, listening and facilitation, worship leading and more.

Candidates must be available to attend 3Generate at the NEC in Birmingham as part of the election process from 2-4 October 2026. It is at this time that the children and young people of the Methodist Church will vote in elections for the next Youth President.

*There is a genuine occupational requirement for you to be aged between 18 and 23 and a member of the Methodist Church by 1 August 2027. Only completed application forms will be considered. CVs will not be accepted.

**Salary offered will be dependent on location. Salary may be reviewed prior to employment start date, although this is not guaranteed.

Enhanced DBS clearance and satisfactory references are required for the election process.
