About the Role

We are seeking an inspiring and motivated Team Leader for Sport and Uniformed Services to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a committed group of staff, delivering high-quality study programmes that support learners to achieve their full potential and progress into further education or employment.

You will play a key leadership role in driving outstanding teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring a consistently high standard of provision. Working collaboratively across the College and with external partners, you will champion student success, support staff development and contribute to a high-performing, inclusive learning environment. 

Note: This is a Fixed Term up to 12 months (Maternity cover)


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of teaching staff to deliver an outstanding student experience
  • Monitor attendance, retention and progress data and drive appropriate interventions
  • Manage performance, appraisals and professional development for staff
  • Ensure high standards of teaching, learning and assessment in line with College policies
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and enhance provision
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes, including lesson observations and reviews
  • Attend and contribute to performance, safeguarding and planning meetings
  • Support marketing and promotional activities for the curriculum area
  • Maintain effective communication across staff, assessors and stakeholders

Essential Criteria

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Sport or Uniformed Services
  • Teaching/training qualification with further education experience (or willingness to achieve)
  • Proven ability to motivate, develop and lead a team
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to monitor and improve performance
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
