Join our team as the Donation Distribution and Clearance Shop Manager and make a difference!

Do you want a job where you can help others and have a positive impact on your community?  Then we’ve got the perfect role for you.

Our retail outlets are a vital part of what we do, generating essential income that directly supports the hospice. Every item sold in our shops or donated to us helps fund the compassionate end-of-life care we provide. With 15 retail shops across North Derbyshire, a dedicated Furniture Store, Donation Centre, two bustling Clearance Shops, and two welcoming Coffee Shops, our retail presence continues to grow. We also operate two successful eBay platforms - one for clothing and one for general goods - alongside a fully online furniture shop. Our shops not only raise vital funds, but also create social value by offering volunteering opportunities, affordable goods, and a welcoming space for people in our local communities. It’s a dynamic, fast-paced operation that’s making a real difference every day!

You will be joining a dedicated and values driven team at our Donation Centre and Clearance Shop.

Our Donation centre has a dynamic environment where no two days are ever the same, and everyone works together with a shared purpose. The team plays a vital role in sorting, preparing, and distributing high quality stock for our retail operation, ensuring our shops are always well supplied with items that help generate essential income for Ashgate Hospice.

The Clearance Shop adds an important final step in this process, giving unsold items from our shops one last opportunity to find a new home and continue raising funds for the care Ashgate provides.

There’s a strong sense of camaraderie here, colleagues support one another, celebrate successes, and take real pride in knowing that every item processed helps make a meaningful difference to patients and families across our community.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the Donation & Distribution Centre and Clearance Shop to support retail income targets, ensuring timely, accurate stock flow to shops and online platforms.
  • Create a welcoming, respectful environment for customers, donors and visitors across the Donation Centre and Clearance Shop.
  • Oversee Gift Aid processes to ensure accurate labelling and recording of eligible donations.
  • Collaborate with shop managers to understand sales trends, stock needs, and capacity, ensuring efficient and tailored distribution.
  • Seek commercial opportunities, including corporate donations and clearance stock partnerships.

For the full details, you can read the attached job description or give the recruiting manager Nicola a call on 01246 229536 for an informal chat. It may be possible to arrange a visit to the our Hasland site.
