Compliance Advice Manager

Fixed Term Contract – duration 9 months

We’re looking for an experienced Compliance Advice Manager to play a pivotal leadership role within our Risk & Governance function during an important period for the business.

This is a senior opportunity for a regulatory professional who thrives on influencing, partnering and leading, and who can provide commercially balanced, high quality advice that supports strong customer outcomes, effective governance and sustainable growth.

The role

You’ll lead the provision of accurate, timely and pragmatic compliance advice across customer, conduct and regulatory matters, ensuring the Group operates firmly within its regulatory and conduct risk appetite. You’ll also oversee the Group’s financial crime prevention framework, including money laundering controls, and support the ongoing evolution of our conduct risk and Consumer Duty approach.

Working closely with senior leaders, committees and Boards, you’ll act as a trusted adviser, challenger and mentor, deputising for the Head of Compliance where required and helping shape the strategic direction of the function.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Providing leadership, mentoring and direction across the Compliance team, role modelling strong values, integrity and judgement

  • Building effective business partnerships while maintaining robust second line independence

  • Interpreting regulatory expectations and translating them into clear, practical advice

  • Overseeing compliance input into major projects, regulatory change and data protection matters

  • Leading and embedding effective financial crime and conduct risk frameworks

  • Supporting the delivery of good customer outcomes, including Board level Consumer Duty activity

  • Producing high quality regulatory, conduct and risk reporting for senior forums

  • Proactively identifying, managing and escalating risks and issues across the Group

About you

You’ll bring expert knowledge of the UK financial services regulatory environment, with deep understanding of the FCA Handbook, strong working knowledge of PRA and ICO/data protection requirements, and a proven ability to apply regulation pragmatically in a commercial setting.

You’ll be confident operating at senior levels, able to influence and challenge constructively, and known for your sound judgement in complex and time pressured situations. Strong communication skills, high ethical standards and a collaborative leadership style are essential.
