The Opportunity…

The UK Sports Institute and Boccia UK have an exciting opportunity for a part time, Senior Physiotherapist to cover a period of maternity leave. (6 – 12 Months)

Location & Travel: The Boccia UK programme operates a camp-based model, which affords some flexibility to how this role may be fulfilled to suit both the needs of the programme and the successful candidate. There will be a need for a physical presence at camps (Largs and Loughborough in particular) and competitions and a requirement to travel nationally & internationally (approximately 60 days/year) as part of this role.

A snapshot of the role…

This role is part of the newly formed UKSI Paralympic Specialist Service. It offers an exciting opportunity to join a team of specialist multi-disciplinary practitioners working collaboratively to support Paralympic World Class Programmes (WCP).

The role requires a suitably qualified and experienced physiotherapist to take on a lead role in the development and delivery of athlete health services in the Boccia UK World Class Programme (WCP) for a fixed period (maternity cover).

This role will provide specialised physiotherapy support services to WCP athletes including Paralympic, World and European champions, contributing to positive performance impact on the court.

 Working collaboratively across the interdisciplinary support team, the post holder will undertake projects and facilitate solutions to complex challenges to optimise athlete health and maximise availability for performance. The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of world-leading physiotherapy and health service provision across WCP Athletes competing internationally and will lead the delivery of athlete management and rehabilitation strategies across the wider interdisciplinary support team.
