The Role:

CRP Subsea is seeking an experienced and driven Production Engineering Manager to lead our Production Engineering and Maintenance functions. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of our manufacturing equipment, processes and facilities. You'll drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance operational performance, improve asset reliability and develop high performing production engineering and maintenance teams to support business growth and operational excellence.

What will you do as our Production Engineering Manager:

  • Lead and manage the Maintenance and Production Engineering functions to support business objectives, customer requirements and operational performance.
  • Develop and implement engineering, maintenance and asset management strategies to improve equipment reliability, productivity, quality and cost performance.
  • Ensure effective preventative and predictive maintenance programmes are established, maintained and continuously improved.
  • Manage production engineering and maintenance resources, budgets and priorities to maximise operational effectiveness and support business growth.
  • Lead manufacturing engineering projects focused on process improvement, automation, capacity enhancement, waste reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all plant, machinery, facilities and infrastructure remain compliant with legislative, safety and company requirements.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in managing spare parts inventory and maintenance systems to minimise downtime and maintain operational continuity.
  • Support the introduction of new equipment, products and manufacturing processes, ensuring robust handover, documentation, training and operational readiness.
  • Lead root cause investigations relating to equipment failures, quality concerns, customer complaints and non-conformances, implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain and HSEQ teams to achieve business objectives and continuous improvement targets.
  • Drive a culture of safety, continuous improvement, accountability and operational excellence across all engineering activities.
  • Lead change initiatives and promote best practice throughout engineering and maintenance operations.
  • Monitor production engineering and maintenance KPIs, including downtime, OEE and maintenance compliance metrics.
  • Support the successful delivery of CAPEX projects and business improvement initiatives.
  • Develop, coach and manage production engineering and maintenance personnel through effective communication, performance management and succession planning.

What are we looking for in our Production Engineering Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in an Engineering Manager, Production Engineering Manager or similar manufacturing leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to develop and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial equipment and maintenance management systems.
  • Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement and delivering measurable business results.
  • Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading asset reliability, maintenance and engineering improvement programmes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Professional engineering qualification and/or membership of a recognised engineering institution would be advantageous.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma qualifications are desirable.
