Hours:   This is a 34-hour per week role with a fixed working pattern, including Saturday and Sunday on a rota basis (one in three weekends). Typical morning shift hours are 07:30 – 12:30, morning late shift 7:30-15:00 on weekdays,  and 07:30 –12:30 on weekends. Flexibility may be required to provide cover on an ad hoc basis.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the hospice, including patient rooms, clinical spaces, and public areas.
• Carrying out deep cleans following patient discharge and ensuring ongoing hygiene compliance.
• Restocking essential supplies such as hand towels, soap, and toilet rolls.
• Assisting colleagues with tasks including bed-making, curtain washing, and floor care.
• Following all safety and infection control guidelines to contribute to a safe, welcoming environment.
• Interacting respectfully with patients, visitors, and colleagues, providing support where needed.

Ashgate Hospice, based in North Derbyshire, offers free palliative and end of life care for adults with life-limiting or incurable illnesses, including cancer, neurological diseases, and advanced heart, kidney, and lung conditions.
