We have an exciting new opportunity for a Sustainability Advisor to join our Risk, Assurance and Sustainability team. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Risk, Assurance and Sustainability the successful candidate will work with teams across the organisation to deliver the environment strategy action plan and ensure that environmental performance is measured and reported through the Sustainability Reporting Standard.

What you will be doing: 

  • Ensure the environmental management system is reviewed and updated on a regular basis 

  • Ensuring environmental risks are identified and assessed and where appropriate procedures are in place 

  • Manage annual submission to the Sustainability Reporting Standard (SRS). 

  • Manage the development and publication of bpha’s Sustainability Report. 

  • Provide guidance and training to bpha colleagues and customers, raising awareness and understanding on ways to protect the environment. 

  • Work with the teams across bpha to identify and deliver potential environmental improvements. 

  • Keeping abreast of sector developments and their potential impact on bpha. 

 

We’d love to meet someone with: 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental legislation, guidance and best practice, with an understanding of PAS2035 desirable. 

  • Degree level education, industry exams or strong relevant experience and commitment to continuing professional development. 

  • Previous experience within a similar environmental or sustainability role, or recent education in the field 

  • The ability to influence and engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels and to present complex information in an accessible way 

  • Proficient in Microsoft word and Excel and formulas, highly organised, methodical, and analytical with exceptional attention to detail
