Our Role
The Data Analyst (Payment Services) will play a crucial role to create understanding and analysis of our Card Payment Services customer base. Reporting to Data Science Manager, this role requires close collaboration across the Marketing, Commercial, and Operations teams to ensure analytical and insight output provides direction which is aligned with broader business goals.
The Data Analyst will be responsible for identifying and creating analysis which provides clarity on customer base movements and exposes opportunities to drive a better commercial outcome for Clear Business. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for interpreting complex data sets to help drive business decisions and improve operational efficiency which contribute to the key commercial goals of cross-sell, customer acquisition, churn reduction, revenue maximisation and better understanding of customer behaviour.

Data Analysis: Collect, organize, and analyse large sets of structured data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can drive business decisions specifically focused on how we acquire new customers and xsell payments to existing customers
Business Insight: Provide data-driven recommendations based on detailed analysis to improve processes, optimise performance, and enhance customer experience
Trend Analysis: Identify and analyse trends in customer behaviour, sales, and market performance to support business forecasting and strategic planning. Generate cohort analysis that allows us to build tactical approaches to specific customer groups
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing, Commercial, and Operations teams to ensure all communications are aligned with company objectives. standards.
Performance Analysis & Optimisation: Track, analyse, and evaluate the success of campaigns using data insights. Continuously optimize messaging, targeting, and delivery to improve campaign outcomes and support business objectives.
What success in the role looks like
Drive Increased New Business Acquisition: Support the increase in acquisition of new customers through Card Payment Services campaigns driven from analysis and insight directing where we should target
Increase in Payments Penetration AcrossCustomer Base – Produce target cohorts specifically where payments opportunity is greatest by liaising directly with data science output and reviewing results
Customer Segmentation Analysis: Through analysis and insight, identify opportunities to improve customer base metrics for specific cohorts that relate to their characteristics
Improve Retention: Boost customer loyalty and reduce churn through effective analysis and insight
Whatyou need to have already done to be right for this role
Experience in the build and delivery of business impacting insight and analysis, within financial services – ideally in a B2B environment.
Ability to demonstrate the financial impact of previous analysis and insight on business goals.
Proficiency in SQL, joining and interpreting large datasets to generate meaningful analysis. Excellent use of excel to consolidate analysis into recommendation.
Experience in presentation of analysis, identifying key recommendations and management subsequent business change'
Working with key stakeholders across multiple teams and influencing decision making for material business impact.
The personal capabilities needed to excel in this role
Proven experience (2+ years) as a Data Analyst or in a similar role with strong attention to detail
Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholder
Proven self-starter with ability to generate own ideas, recommendations, analysis that bring new perspectives on where and when to target
Qualifications and other requirements

Data retention
How long will you use my information for?
We will retain your personal information for a period of 6 months after we have communicated to you our decision about whether to appoint you to the role. We retain your personal information for that period so that we can show, in the event of a legal claim, that we have not discriminated against candidates on prohibited grounds and that we have conducted the recruitment exercise in a fair and transparent way. It also means that if you are initially unsuccessful, we can review your CV and application for other roles that may be suitable, again within this period. After this period, we will securely destroy your personal information in accordance with our data retention policy.
If we wish to retain your personal information on file, on the basis that a different opportunity may arise in future and we may wish to consider you for that, we will seek your explicit consent to retain your personal information for a fixed period on that basis.
