Lindab Ltd Privacy Statement
The content of this Privacy Notice is compiled to be in accordance with the requirements concerning a data subject’s right to access information and to access the processed personal data in accordance with articles 13–15 in the General Data Protection Regulation that becomes enforceable on 25 May 2018.
All examples in this notice (regarding amongst others, the processing of personal data, purposes, legal grounds, recipients of personal data, potential transfers to third countries and the periods of retention of personal data) constitute examples that need to be adapted to the specific processing of the relevant company.
As defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Lindab Ltd is the Data Controller and ultimately responsible for ensuring the data you provide is kept secure, processed correctly and that you understand your legal rights in relation to the data you provide.
The recruitment software we use via this website is supplied by IRIS Software Group Limited and they are defined as a Data Processor under the GDPR. They will only process your data in accordance with our instructions.

PURPOSE AND CONTENT
In connection with the recruitment process Lindab Limited needs to collect and further process personal data about job applicants in order to evaluate if they are suitable candidates for the intended role/job position.
Lindab Limited values your privacy and commits to protect your personal data. Lindab Limited’s processing of personal data is conducted in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation that aim to protect individuals’ privacy in connection with processing of personal data.
The purpose of this document is to provide information regarding how Lindab Limited collects, processes and shares personal data relating to job applicants. This document also provides information about the job applicants’ rights in relation to the processing of their personal data.
WHAT PERSONAL DATA WILL BE PROCESSED?
Lindab Limited processes the following types of personal data about you:
- Contact information (e.g. name, address, email and telephone number);
- Pictures if required in the recruitment process for the purposes of identification;
- Information regarding prior working experience and education (e.g. information included in CV, cover letter, application form, from previous employers and educational providers etc.);
- Financial information (e.g. credit records) if required in the recruitment process;
- Equal Opportunities information if relevant to the recruitment process (such as details of disability if we need to make reasonable adjustments for you as part of the recruitment process or to ensure meaningful equal opportunity monitoring and reporting);
- Any information you provide to us during an interview or assessment; and
- If required in the recruitment process, results from intelligence and personality tests.
As a general rule, Lindab Limited collects personal data directly from you. However, from time to time Lindab Limited may utilise the services of third parties to collect personal data about you, e.g. through recruitment agencies, prior employers etc.
FOR WHAT PURPOSES IS PERSONAL DATA BEING PROCESSED?
Lindab Limited processes your personal data for the following purposes:
- To review if you are a suitable candidate for the advertised job;
- To request credit information if relevant and to carry out background and reference checks;
- To communicate with you about the recruitment process;
- To process potential work-related claims (e.g. discrimination claims, etc.) and otherwise to comply with legal or regulatory requirements;
- To draft employment agreements that will be concluded if you are hired.
- If applicable and if your explicit consent has been obtained, to include your contact information in an internal data base with potential applicants in order to be able to contact you if a relevant position or role is available.
HOW IS THE PERSONAL DATA PROCESSED?
Lindab Limited processes your data in the following ways:
- By ‘manual’ processing meaning that our human resources personnel and other involved personnel are processing your personal data; and
- By ‘automated’ processing meaning that a system may be used for the initial selection process that excludes candidates not fulfilling basic requirements, such as relevant education.
WHAT ARE THE LEGAL GROUNDS FOR PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA?
Lindab Limited processes your personal data based on the following legal grounds:
- The legitimate interests of Lindab Limited as an employer and business to process personal data of job applicants, except where such interest is overridden by your interests or the protection of your fundamental rights and freedoms;
- The performance of a legal obligation;
- Your consent when Lindab AB/the relevant Lindab entity requests to retain your personal data and documents for future recruitment processes;
- The necessity of processing personal data for conclusion of employment agreement if you are hired;
- If processing involves special categories of personal data, to carry out our and your obligations and rights under employment, social security and social protection laws (e.g. to ensure non-discrimination, reasonable adjustments for disabled job applicants etc.);
- Where special categories of personal data are needed in the public interest, such as for equal opportunities
HOW DO WE PROTECT THE PERSONAL DATA AND WHEN DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
Lindab Limited has taken the appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect the personal data from loss, abuse and unauthorised access.
The number of employees at Lindab Limited that have access to the personal data is limited. Access to the personal data has only been granted the individuals at Lindab Limited that need to process the personal data in accordance with the purposes that have been stated above. If necessary, Lindab Limited may transfer data to other companies within Lindab Group if necessary as part of the recruitment process and/or to make decisions in connection with that, or otherwise for reporting purposes.
Lindab Limited may also share your personal data with third party suppliers providing services to Lindab Limited, e.g. collaboration partners such as recruitment agencies that process personal data for the purpose of evaluating candidates.
HOW LONG IS YOUR PERSONAL DATA RETAINED?
Lindab Limited applies different retention periods for different categories of your personal data. Details of retention periods for different personal data are available in our Guideline on retention of personal data which is available from the HR Department.
Personal data concerning job applicants will be retained in accordance with our Guideline on retention of personal data referenced in section 7.1 above. When processing of your personal data is no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which it was collected Lindab Limited will erase that personal data.
To determine the retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.
If we wish to retain your personal information on file, on the basis that a further opportunity may arise in future and we may wish to consider you for that, we will write to you separately, seeking your consent to retain your personal information for a fixed period on that basis.
WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS AND REMEDIES?
Right to access
You have the right to request information on how your personal data is processed and what personal data is processed about you. You also have the right to receive a copy of the personal data that is being processed.
Right to correction, objection, erasure and limitation
If the personal data processed by Lindab Limited is incorrect, incomplete or irrelevant or there is no good reason for us continuing to process it you may request to have it corrected or erased. If you do not agree with a decision to process personal data based on [Lindab Limited’s legitimate interests you may object to such processing or request restriction of processing.
[You may also object to being subject to automated processing (if used) in connection with the recruitment process. Conversely, you may obtain human intervention in the form of an explanation to the decision based on automated processing or challenge such decision.]
You also have the right to request restriction of processing when it is based on other legal grounds. For example, you may request a restriction of processing if you consider the processed personal data to be incorrect or if you consider that the personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing. Please note that a restriction or erasure of your personal data may infer that Lindab Limited does not have the possibility to fulfil its commitments. The right to erasure may not apply to the extent that processing is necessary for e.g. compliance with a legal obligation which requires processing by Union or member state law to which Lindab Limited is subject.
Right to withdraw consent
If you have given your consent to processing of your personal data for an explicit purpose (and this is the legal basis relied on by Lindab Limited for the purpose of processing your personal data) you may always withdraw your consent. If you want to withdraw your consent, you may contact Lindab Limited through the contact information provided in Section 9.
Right to data portability
To the extent Lindab Limited processes your personal data based on consent you have the right to, upon request, receive your processed personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and the right to have your personal data transmitted to another controller, where technically feasible.
Right to claim
It is important for Lindab Limited that you feel safe in relation to the company’s processing of your personal data. Lindab Limited values the integrity of all job applicants and aims to process all personal data with respect. If you still think that your personal data is processed wrongly, please do not hesitate to contact us. You are also entitled to lodge a complaint to the supervisory authority in your jurisdiction, which in the UK is the Information Commissioner – www.ico.org.uk.
