Here at NCHA we have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our friendly and passionate Registered care home working a Support Worker.
Wells Road - What do they do?
Wells Rd a registered care home for 6 people. The project is a short distance from the city centre and Sherwood town Centre. We support people who have a learning disability, autism and mental health conditions who may have complex communication needs. The people who live at Wells Road come from a variety of backgrounds and needs. Some of these needs are personal care support, mobility needs and positive behaviour support. The population of Wells Rd is becoming elderly, however we aim to maintain people’s independence no matter what support they may require and we do this using active support. Every day is different as we support people to lead meaningful lives. One day we could be supporting people to clean their living space another we might be going swimming or church. The service user is at the centre of everything we do.
As a Support Worker you will work as part of a team to deliver support with personal care and all aspect of daily living. You will offer support in a person-centred, holistic way, ensuring peoples safety and dignity is protected. You’ll be a key worker for named individuals, ensuring that risk assessments and support plans accurately reflect the individual’s needs and wishes.
Although the role will be challenging it will also be highly rewarding and you can go to work each day with the knowledge you’re making a difference to someone’s life.
Some of your responsibilities
Working Hours
You will ideally be able to work full time 37 hours per week working 5 days out of 7 on a rotating shift basis. Our home is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days per year to meet the needs of our service users. It is essential that you are able to work various shifts on a rota basis including on bank holidays and weekends; Early -7am to 2.30pm, Late 1.45pm to 9.15pm, Mid shifts for 1-1 support Sleep in, which an additional payment is made. Waking nights - 9pm to 7.15am - A bonus is also paid for waking night shifts!

Be able to handle challenging situations and be resilient. Have the ability to read, follow and record written instructions and information accurately, and communicate in a clear, friendly and professional manner. Be a competent IT user - includes using Microsoft Word, sending emails and updating records in systems (training for our systems will be provided)
